Cloud Readiness Assessment

The most informed way to begin your cloud transformation. Whether this is your first exposure to cloud or there is a need to assess readiness to move workloads and applications into new environments like Azure. XContent will work with you to create a detailed and relevant view of your current infrastructure. A roadmap will be built to assist you to become cloud-enabled.


Our methodology:

  • An evaluation tool is deployed on your network that scans devices, resource utilisation and usage patterns.
  • This tool gathers information normally over a 14-day period.
  • Our architects then work through this data and map out a solution.
  • We then compile a report that covers the findings across readiness, cost and resource utilisation (CPU, RAM, Storage and Network).

Evaluation tool options:

We use several tools, depending on the environment. The standard tool is the one Microsoft recommends called Movere. For more advanced scenarios we use the Bit Titan product. Bit Titan does involve an additional charge based on number of servers to be scanned.


Solution Considerations:

Our architects will classify dependencies and identify workloads into 3 categories:

  • Not cloud ready
  • Attention required to be cloud ready
  • Cloud ready

This information can then be used to draw up a cloud migration plan as the next step.

Without the need for the advanced tools, the assessment will cover environments of up to 50 servers. The total expected duration is between 4 and 6 weeks, including the information gathering period of 2 weeks.

The advanced tool comes at a cost of R 750.00 per server excl. VAT (Subject to ROE) and will include the more detailed cost analysis and ROI. Detailed planning can be generated directly from the gathered information.

The scope for the detailed planning is an additional charge depending on number of hosts included in migration plan.
